Easter Holiday Hours
Please note that we will be closed from Friday 6th April to Monday 9th April (reopening at 10am on Tuesday 10th April) for the Easter public holidays. Have a happy and safe Easter break!

On 2 April 2012, Australia Post is increasing the cost of parcel post. We have managed to keep our postage rates the same for the past couple of postage rises, however this rise has forced us to increase our postage prices. Our prices will increase after the Easter break, on 10 April 2012. We don’t charge a handling fee – in order to keep the cost of our products low for our customers, we simply charge what it costs us to send your orders. Full information on the new postage costs can be seen on our website (http://www.eurekabeads.com.au/shipping.p
Remember, we endeavour to process and send all orders that we receive before 2pm same day – this has not changed – meaning that you could have your order as early as tomorrow. We always double check the postage cost before processing orders – if the order is lighter than expected and can fit in a smaller parcel, you will be charged the lower cost. As always, we recommend registered post (even trackable parcels can go missing, in the past few months alone we have had several parcels go missing through Australia Post). A breakdown of the postage options is below:
Express Post: This is the well known express postage offered by Australia Post, starting at $9 (for up to 500 grams). It stipulates next day delivery for many locations in Australia – see Australia Post’s website (http://auspost.com.au/business/express-p
Registered Post: This is insured, registered mail, starting at $10 (for up to 500 grams). Highly recommend for higher value orders, it includes insurance up to the total of your order. You must be home to sign for your parcel – if you’re not, it will be returned to your local post office, where you’ll be able to collect it.

Welcome to the February newsletter. As always, a very busy month – we’ve had several shipments arrive, and have found more stock to clear out. We’ve also had a drop on the price of some of our Swarovski beads and have found time to update our Facebook page. News this month:

Change of Opening Hours
Just a reminder that as of January 2012, Eureka! Beads Toomuc Valley and Eureka! Beads Cheltenham has changed opening hours.
Our new opening hours are:10am – 5pm, Monday to Saturday (closed Sunday)</p>

Last month we introduced some of our new 3mm Swarovski crystals – we’re quickly increasing this range, see our website for more details. New colours being added daily.
We have a collection of 4mm Swarovski Bicone beads currently on sale, $5 per pack of 70 pieces. These beads have been heavily discounted because they are a mix of the older 5301 and the newer 5328 cuts (they’ve been mixed up, our eyesight is going nuts trying to sort them out, so we’ve decided to sell them out at really good prices). Amongst the sale Swarovski we also have discontinued 6mm round Swarovski beads.
And finally, our regular 5328 4mm bicone Swarovski beads have undergone a price drop. If you purchase 100 pieces of the same colour, they drop down to $0.13 per bead – this new price is now available instore (in 100 piece packs) and online.

Welcome to the January newsletter. With a bit of time off, we’re ready for the new year, and have madly been adding new products and discontinuing old ones. We’ve got loads of new gemstones and swarovski beads, and old (5301) swarovski beads on sale. Extremely limited numbers, so get in quick. We’ve also changed our opening hours this year – after many many years of being open 7 days a week, we’ve decided it’s time for a break and so we are now closed Sundays. Learn how to make your own beaded scarf ends
| Materials: | Tools: |
| 3 decorative head pins | 2 x Crimping Pliers |
| 5 large aluminium flattened ball metal beads | Twirly Wirlies |
| 3 x 6mm strong jump rings | Wire Cutters |
| 1 x 25mm closed ring | |
| 1 thin scarf | |
| 2 x 15cm 20gauge beading wire | |
| 3 x 10mm plain metal beads | |
| note: we used bronze coloured findings | |
Pick up a decorative head pin and thread on:
- a large aluminium flattened ball metal bead
- a 10mm plain metal bead
Leaving a space of 10mm, cut the excess off the head pin. Twirl the end into a closed loop using your twirly wirlies.
Open up one of the 6mm strong jump rings (as they are quite strong, you will need to use two pairs of pliers) and thread it onto the top loop in the flattened ball head pin. Whilst it is still open, thread it onto the 25mm closed ring and then close securely.
Pick up your scarf and thread the 25mm closed ring with its attachments into the centre. Put aside for now.
Pick up one of the large aluminium flattened ball metal beads and cut out the top “star” of metal. You will need to use strong cutters and be careful of the sharp wire. Take one of the ends of the scarf and fold into a point. Wrap a section of thick wire securely around the point and then pass the wire through the inside of the cut flattened metal bead and out through the hole in the bottom. Leaving a space of 10mm, cut the excess off the wire. Twirl the end using your twirly wirlies. Repeat this process with the other end of the scarf.
Pick up another decorative head pin and thread on:
- a large aluminium flattened ball metal bead
- a 10mm plain metal bead
Leaving a space of 10mm, cut the excess off the head pin. Twirl the end using your twirly wirlies. Open up another 6mm strong jump ring and thread it onto the top loop in the flattened ball head pin. Whilst it is still open, thread it onto the bottom loop on one end of the scarf. Close securely. Repeat the process of making the flattened ball head pin, and attach to the other end of the scarf. Your beaded scarf is now ready to wear!
