Learn how to make your own Christmas Wreath Earrings

| 2 diamante ear wires | Crimping Pliers |
| 2 earring hoops | Wire Cutters |
| 2 strong jump rings | Scissors |
| 14 green leaf glass beads | super glue |
| 80cm x 28 gauge beading wire | |
| 16 x 5mm green round beads | |
| 18 x 5/0 red seed beads | |
| 18 x 5/0 green seed beads | |
| 60cm red ribbon | |
| our earrings were made with silver findings | |
Take an earring hoop and gently open by pulling apart at the join. Thread on to it:
- a 5mm green glass bead
- a green leaf bead
Continue until you have put on 8 green (5mm) glass beads. Place a dab of superglue on the end of the hoop wire and slot it back into the join. Gently press the join down with your crimping pliers.
Cut a 400mm length of wire. Twitch one end onto the join area of the earring hoop. Thread on one green 5/0 seed bead. Wrap the wire around the earring hoop wire – between the first green 5mm glass bead and the first green glass leaf. Thread on one 5/0 red seed bead. Wrap the wire between the next two beads. Continue until you’ve gone all the way around the earring hoop. Twitch off the wire at the join.
Do the same for the next earring "wreath".
Open a jump ring and attach an earring wire to the "wreath" Do the same to the other earring.
Cut a 300mm piece of ribbon. Tie a bow at the top of the "wreath" by wrapping around the jump ring area of the earrings. Do the same for the other earring.

Christmas Opening Hours
Please note that Eureka! Beads Cheltenham, Eureka! Beads Toomuc Valley and Eureka! Beads Online will be closed from Friday 25th December through to Sunday 3rd January for the Christmas period. We will be re-opening at 10am on Monday 4th January.

What a busy week it’s been! We’ve had many people online and even more instore. And so – this is a friendly reminder that our massive 50% off sale finishes this Sunday, at 5pm. Welcome to the February newsletter. And what a hot February it is, the weather in Australia is out of control, floods and cyclones up north, and bushfires and extreme heat down south. Keep cool, and don’t forget to look out for your animals – both your pets and the natives. Down here, we are trying to beat the heat, and yet get ready for the upcoming shows. We’re lucky – both of our shops have the air conditioners pumping, so be sure to visit! News this month:

Learn how to make your own diamante spacer bracelet

Take your strand of tigertail, and fold in half. Thread a jump ring over one strand, up to the fold. Then bring the two strands together, and thread on a small crimp. Bring up to the jump ring, and squish down. Thread on a filigree metal tube (to hide the crimp). Split up the two strands, and thread a clear 4mm bicone glass crystal on each strand.
Next, thread on:
- one of the half moon 2 strand diamante spacers (through the two strands)
- a clear 4mm bicone glass crystal on each strand
- a plain metal bead on each strand
- a coloured 4mm bicone glass crystal on each strand
- a plain metal bead on each strand
- a clear 4mm bicone glass crystal on each strand
Repeat pattern 8 times, making sure you thread the same strand through the diamante spacer each time. Finish by threading one more half moon 2 strand diamante spacers through the two strands. Thread a clear 4mm bicone glass crystal on each strand, and then bring the two strands together. Thread on a large crimp, followed by a filigree metal tube and a jump ring. Thread the two strands of tigertail over the jump ring, and back through the filigree metal tube and large crimp. Pull up tightly and squish down the crimp. Cut off any excess tigertail.
Open up a new jump ring, and thread onto one end of the bracelet. Whilst it is still open, thread on the bar part of the toggle clasp. Close securely. Open up the jump ring on the other end of the bracelet, and thread on the circle part of the toggle clasp. Close securely. Your bracelet is now ready to wear!

Learn how to make your own beaded bookmark

Pick up your piece of tigertail and thread on a small crimp, followed by a small star bead cap and a plain metal bead. Thread the tigertail around the metal ball and back through the small star bead cap and the crimp. Pull up tightly, squish down the crimp and cut off any excess tigertail.
Thread onto your tigertail:
- a webbed bead cap
- a ladybird glass bead (it’s your choice which way you want your ladybirds to face – ours are facing down)
- a plain metal bead
- an 8mm round faceted glass crystal
- a plain metal bead
- a ladybird glass bead
- a plain metal bead
- an 8mm round faceted glass crystal
- a plain metal bead
- a ladybird glass bead
Next, thread on a small crimp, followed by a filigree metal tube. Thread the tigertail through a jump ring, then back through the filigree metal tube and crimp. Pull up tightly, squish down the crimp and cut off any excess tigertail.
Open up the jump ring and thread through the small hole at the end of the bookmark. Close securely. Your bookmark is now ready to use!

Our Cheltenham Store is located on the Nepean Highway, just down from Southland and is well serviced by public transport – great for those without a car. Parking is available behind the store (the entrance to this parking is via a narrow laneway just up from our shop – between Linze Classical Designs and Swimwear Galore. Enter from the service lane in front of our shop). From Melbourne, follow St Kilda Road as it changes into Brighton Road and then into Nepean Highway.
